Where is the new location?
The new location is at the corner of 25th Ave and Chase. 2501 Chase Street, Edgewater, 80214
How can I volunteer?
YES! We rely on volunteers to teach, mentor and inspire. Please know that we may require a background check. If you are interested in volunteering, please go to the VOLUNTEER page and read the information. Please contact us!
I would like to donate or my company might be able to sponsor CoderDojo Denver, how can I find out more about this?
We rely heavily on community support! We would appreciate financial support as well as sponsored items and donated laptops. Sponsored items could be tee-shirts, water bottles, tech items like USB flash drive wrist bands.
If you have an idea, feel free to run it by us. We would also like to have sponsored snacks and water bottles. Please click on our DONATE page for more information or send an email through our contact us page.
Is there a cost for my child to attend?
Classes are free. However, this isn’t a free ride. Parents must participate and help at the Dojo. This is one of the keys to your child’s success.
My child is special needs. Can they attend?
Absolutely! Please let us know in advance of your child’s unique circumstances. We are not special needs teachers but, there have been some great success stories around the world. Please remember that you must be present at the Dojo!
You can reach us through our contact us page.
As a parent or guardian, do I need to stay during the event?
<This policy is subject to change for our 2017-2018 season. Our new location WILL have child-care, but we strongly encourage you to stick around and be involved in what your child is learning.>
YES! A Parent or Guardian must stay. Our facility does not maintain liability insurance nor meet guidelines for child care. If this causes a substantial hardship, your child wants to be there but there is NO WAY you can stay, please contact us and we will try to help. Please try and work this out before you contact us.
Parents and Guardians are there to ensure we don’t have any behavior problems, tp support a shy or scared child, encourage, organize, provide snacks, and socialize with each other. The adult dojo community helps to insure our success! Parents and guardians should be getting to know one another, help out in the Dojo, and encourage all of the kids.
There are no grades, tests or final exams. This is experiential learning in a team setting. We want kids helping kids. We want kids to mentor other kids. We want kids to gain the confidence that they can build, make and create on their own.
Do I need to register to attend?
You will need to register one time on the CoderDojo.com web site and set up a child profile. Full instructions will be over on the REGISTER page.
